BlurTak Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 September 2026

BlurTak is a local-first Chrome extension that lets users blur selected webpage elements and save a screenshot of the visible browser viewport.

Data collection

BlurTak does not collect, store, sell, share, or transmit personal information, browsing history, webpage content, screenshots, authentication information, financial information, or user activity to any external server.

Local processing

All blur effects and screenshot processing take place locally in the user's browser. Screenshots are saved only when the user selects Save Screenshot and chooses a destination through Chrome's download interface.

Permissions

BlurTak does not request broad host permissions and does not run on a webpage until the user interacts with the extension.

Third parties

BlurTak does not use analytics, advertising networks, external APIs, remote code, or third-party data processors.

Data retention

BlurTak does not retain user data. Blur effects exist only in the current page session and disappear when the page is reloaded or closed.

Changes

If BlurTak's data practices change, this policy and the Chrome Web Store disclosure will be updated before the change is released.
